Picture Farm joined Nike and photographer Christopher Anderson over a series of weeks and multiple locations to shoot some of the most exciting athletes preparing for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Anderson captured Eaton training to defend his 2012 gold medal at the upcoming Rio Olympics. Working with his coach, Robert Dos Remedios, Eaton showed his power and discipline through his dynamic, decathlon inspired workouts at the scenic Westmont College in Santa Barbara. Ashton would go on to win the decathlon gold medal and tying the Olympic record in 2016.
Heading just down the 101 to Los Angeles, Christopher and Picture Farm shot Allyson Felix where she spent her days leading up to the Rio Olympics training at the UCLA athletics center.
Allyson would go on to collect two golds and a silver at the Rio Olympics.
Next up was Houston, Texas where Christopher and PF captured Simone (on her way to a record tying four gold medals) at her personal gym, The World Champions Center.
The team traveled to Jamaica where we woke in the pre dawn hours to capture world class sprinter Shelly-Ann train on her grass track at the University of Technology Jamaica, outside Kingston.
Shelly-Ann would continue her incredible career, finishing with a silver and bronze in Rio.
Finally the team continued to Europe and joined Rory outside Belfast, capturing the world class golfer showcase his skills both on the green and in the gym.
Along the way, Christopher was able to stop and both photograph and film Gabby in Ohio, preparing for her role in the USA’s triumphant campaign. Below is a documentary film editing from that shoot. At the header of this article is a more meditative film cut by Picture Farm’s Toddy Stewart.
