Director Toddy Stewart and photographer Lucas Garrido traveled to Paris and Capri with Emma Stone and Romain Gavras to shoot the Behind The Scenes storytelling of Louis Vuitton’s epic Cœur Battant fragrance shoot. When the sets feature the Louvre and Casa Malaparte, and when the talent is Academy and Golden Globe winning actor Emma Stone, the production is never going to be anything other than interesting.

Toddy built the team, pulling in Lucas and fellow filmmaker Francesca Consarino and itinerant producer Ben Miller. After spending a week drifting around the edges of the intimate set and interviewing Ms. Stone, Toddy brought the footage back to Brooklyn to edit at PF Post, crafting discrete BTS montage videos, interview pieces, an LVTV film and a boat load of social media deliverables, many of which are still being released (and therefore not shown here!)

Picture Farm Post also worked with Louis Vuitton and Iconoclast to “version” the hero campaign films to the myriad aspect ratios and iterations, delivering dozens of bespoke assets for the iconic, global brand.

Emma Stone stars in the campaign for Louis Vuitton’s newest perfume, and shares with Bazaar what it means as an actress to front a fragrance. In this exclusive video behind-the-scenes, the Oscar-winner explains that she approaches modelling as acting without dialogue.

“It’s about perfume, but it’s also about the life of this woman and what she’s experiencing,” the star says. As with cinema, it’s pure storytelling. “It’s a great challenge because you do think about your body moving in a different way,” she adds. It’s “saying things through just your eyes,” Stone explains, and that “you don’t need dialogue to express what’s happening in the shot, or in the story or in her life”. – Bazaar
